With the rapid development of global science and technology, especially since entering the information age, the application scope of PI film has been greatly expanded, such as in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, rail transit, aerospace, etc.

However, due to being a high-tech barrier industry, the global PI film production capacity is still mainly monopolized by a few foreign companies, including DuPont from the United States, Zhonghua from Japan, SKPI from South Korea, and Ube Industries from Japan, with an overall production capacity of 2000-3000 tons per year.

The main technical barriers of PI film lie in the long equipment customization cycle, high process difficulty, high degree of customization, and scarcity of technical talents. In addition, the investment scale of PI film should not be underestimated. Investing in a production line requires 200-300 million yuan. Although the investment scale is not large, the risk is high, the investment cycle is long, and it is not affordable for ordinary enterprises.
