According to data from a third-party consulting firm, BOE's in car display panel shipment area has jumped to the world's top in 2021, while the shipment volume of 8-inch and above in car display panels continues to remain the world's top.
BOE has launched flexible AMOLED, flexible multi screen, curved display, fully integrated display, and other in car display sub application areas such as automotive instruments, central control assemblies, entertainment system displays, head up displays, and rearview mirrors BD Cell、Mini LED、 A variety of highly representative cutting-edge technology products, including ultra large displays, have been widely applied to mainstream global automotive brands such as China, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, and South Korea, including both domestic and foreign traditional car companies, as well as "new car making forces" such as NIO, Xiaopeng, and Ideal.
In addition to in car display screens, BOE and its subsidiaries have signed strategic cooperation agreements with some car companies to jointly create a new ecosystem for future smart travel in the fields of intelligent cockpit display and intelligence, and work together to promote product innovation in the areas of in car display and interaction.
In terms of AMOLED business, BOE's flexible AMOLED business has developed rapidly in recent years. According to consulting firm data, the company's flexible AMOLED product shipments increased by nearly 50% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022.
At present, BOE has developed multiple flexible AMOLED products with different forms such as folding, curling, and multi folding that can be applied to smartphones and laptops, which can meet the diverse needs of customers. Regarding the trend of panel prices, BOE stated that since the second half of 2021, there has been a structural adjustment in panel prices, with TV and IT LCD product prices experiencing varying degrees of decline. Since the beginning of 2022, client demand has been affected to some extent due to external environmental uncertainties such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict and repeated domestic epidemics. The prices of LCD TV products continued to be under pressure in the second quarter, approaching historical lows and potentially clearing some of the industry's outdated production capacity. The prices of LCD IT products continued to adjust in the second quarter. With the arrival of the peak season in the second half of the year, the promotion pull, and the release of new products, demand is expected to improve.
