Chemical silver plating on PP filmProcessing is a method of using chemical silver plating solution to deposit a layer of silver plating on the surface of metal, in order to achieve the purpose of rust prevention, wear resistance, and enhanced conductivity. At present, the chemical silver plating process has many advantages compared to the electroplating silver plating process, and is therefore widely used in the silver plating process of metal parts. The application range of PP film chemical silver plating process is wide. The chemical silver plating process is widely used for silver plating on the surface of the vast majority of metal workpieces, such as precision connectors, high-precision instrument components, electronic products, etc.
The plating effect of chemical silver plating process is excellent. After chemical silver plating treatment, workpieces with dense coating, good brightness, and good weldability can be obtained, which have high corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity, and the coating will not yellow.
The chemical silver plating process is easy to operate and has a long service life for the bath solution. The chemical silver plating process only requires corrosion-resistant PP plastic tanks for the equipment. During the operation, the tank solution is configured proportionally and soaked without the need for an external power source. The bath solution for chemical silver plating can be reused repeatedly. In the later stage, if the speed of chemical plating decreases, effective ingredients can be added and continued to be used. The lifespan of the tank solution is long, reducing the number of tank changes.
Application engineers should be aware of the potential issues that may arise when PP tin coatings are combined with gold, palladium, or silver. Especially in applications where micro motion conditions may exist, replacing one of the male and female terminals in the "tin to tin" contact interface with another coating may worsen the situation. Lubricants may also not provide suitable performance for the "tin to gold" and "tin to palladium" coordination systems. If the combination of "tin and gold" or "tin and palladium" is inevitable, then anti micro corrosion lubricants are a necessary but not perfect solution.
