Introduction to Automotive Foam and Adhesive Precautions

Automotive foam is based on white or black IXPE electron radiation cross-linked foam, with red, green or blue PE release film as the release film.

Automobile foam has strong adhesive force, good weather resistance, waterproof, solvent resistance, anti-aging, and provides excellent adhesion effect on uneven surfaces. It is widely used in automobile interior trim, door trim strip, rain shield, sign pasting and fixing, with strong adhesive force, good shock absorption performance, strong weather resistance, automobile decorative strip, automobile glass, automobile pedal, sealing strip, wave plate, wheel arc, flow stop, plate brake light, and the bonding and fixing of embedded plates in the car.

Precautions for bonding car foam:

1. Clean the dust and oil stains on the surface of the adhered object before pasting, and keep it dry (do not paste on rainy days with damp walls). If used for pasting mirror surfaces, it is recommended to clean the adhesive surface with alcohol first;

2. The working temperature during pasting should not be lower than 10 ℃, otherwise a hair dryer can be used to heat the adhesive tape and surface appropriately;

3. Pressure sensitive tape has its best effectiveness after 24 hours of application (the tape should be pressed as tightly as possible during application). When applying vertically load-bearing objects such as mirrors, with both sides already adhered, place them flat for 24 hours. If this condition is not met, support should be applied to the load-bearing object within 24 hours of vertical adhesion.
